Hey Guys , Fazal Shaik here from Technical boom. In this post of mine, I am going to share my honest opinions on Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 , Is it worth buying Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 at 10k or 12k?... Further we go , Lets get started.
We saw Xiaomi , basically a china based company, launching many flagships and many budget oriented smartphones.From Mi 1 to Mi 5 , from Redmi 1 to Redmi 3, from redmi note prime to redmi note 3.As Xiaomi is 5th largest smartphone producer in world, it almost sold many of its units also in India.The first Phone launched in India was Mi4i and Mi pad.
Similarly , Xiaomi launched two varients of Redmi note 3 , i.e; the mediatek version and the snapdragon version.The snapdragon version hails from India.
This budget oriented smartphone has Snapdragon 650 Chipset with ARM Cortex A72 cores with 1.8 ghz clock speed.Lets have a close look at the specs.
SPECIFICATIONS
DISPLAY:
5.5 " (13.9 cm) full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen and 401 ppi pixel density with Sunlight display, Reading mode and Night mode.
BUILT QUALITY:
Coming to the built quality, Xiaomi has done some improvements in this smartphone.It comes with Metal body with a premium finish, fingerprint sensor with chip-level security encryption and 0.3s unlock time.
CAMERA:
Coming to the camera , there are no improvments.It just has 16MP f/2.0 primary camera with Dual ISPs, PDAF(Phase Detection Autofocus) and a two tone flash; 5MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture.
CONNECTIVITY:
This phone provides good connections with 4g LTE,3g WCDMA,2g GSM depending upon your phone, though there are some problems with BSNL network. Actually it comes with the Custom os , MIUI 7.0 but after MIUI has launched its MIUI 7.3.2 , things change a little with the connectivity.
WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY:
It also has a Bluetooth facility, A powerful WIFI band and also has some addtional features.
SENSORS:
Xiaomi has never compromised in giving good sensors.It comes with all the necessary sensors , the Electronic Compass, Gravity sensor, light sensor, gyroscope,IR blaster,Hall sensor and a basic sensor, the proximity Sensor.
SOFTWARES AND PROCESSOR:
Coming to the point of os used in this device is basically the MIUI 7 it comes with the Android L(Lollipop 5.1).It comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 Hexa core chipset clocked at 1.8 ghz, with the cortex A72 lead cores to launch all the apps faster and faster.It has the next gen adreno 510 GPU which gives you a incredible gaming experperience with both 2gb and 3gb of dual panel Ram.
MEMORY:
It comes with 16gb and 32 gb of internal storage, it also has a facility of inserting both sim and micro sd card or just using dual sim.
BATTERY:
This device has a 4050 mAH high density lithium-polymer battery.There is good battery backup in this phone, but the main problem of xiaomi arises, i.e; the heating issues.
This device usually gets heated often, while charging etc.Though xiaomi has made some new improvments in its battery line up, but still laggs behind because of heating issues.
Now, I think all of you have got some idea about this smartphone, but still not able to decide whether to take this phone or not. SO, guys need not to take pins ans needles about this device, coz iam gonna do the review of this smartphone now and tell you, is it worth buying this budget oriented smartphone? Here we go.
VERDICT (PROS AND CONS )
Let me just jump to the things about what I liked about this
device.
PROS:
1. The first thing what impressed me was the finger print
scanner.This finger print scanner has a good position,
good accessibility and good timing.In terms of security and
protection, Xiaomi has never compromised in any regard.
2.The second thing which is good about this device ,is that it has an IR blaster.So what is a IR blaster?.IR blaster is nothing
but an emulator, which acts like a remote, to control all the
electronic devices such as AC ,TV etc.
3.The third unique quality of this device is that it has a MI mover
option, which usually acts like a bluetooth.What we see in
bluetooth is that it moves all the files from one one phone to
other.But using Mi Mover, we can also move the apps, games etc
to other MI phones .
4.If you're a gamer, then you are buying this phone for a good
cause , it comes with a powerful GPU of adreno 510,which
gives you the best gaming experience.
5.It also comes with the snapdragon 650 chipset, which is a
powerful chipset, and also gives you the best performance in
multitasking also.So, there is a good memory management in this
device.If you're a multitasking geek then it is a best phone, you're
choosing.
6.The most good fact of this smartphone is that it has the long
lasting battery with 264 hrs of talktime in 3g network, so that is a
good fact of the battery.
After the good facts about this device, let's jump into the scenario of negative points.
CONS:
1.The first thing what I didnt like about this device is the
camera.Xiaomi didnt improve its camera,it was not able to give the optical image stabilisation, which is available in Lenovo ZUK Z1.But considering the price point ,the camera is just a average one.
2.Xiaomi also failed to provide a flash on the front facing camera.Even a low profile company, Xolo provides the front facing flash in their devices but Xiaomi failed to do that in this device.
3.This device also heats up as usual.So, you may find more heating issues with this phone.
